Jack Sparrow - Pirates of the Caribbean
This was my first big cosplay project in 2020, recreating Jack Sparrow's costume from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
Costume
I made the shirt and waistcoat using Simplicity pattern 4923, and a basic pyjama bottom pattern for the trousers. I adjusted the patterns slightly to match the costume used in the film and added pockets to the waistcoat. I also used an old pair of boots to make boot covers. I weathered the costume using tea, bleach and acrylic paint.
Wig
I made dreadlocks to add to a brown synthetic wig by twisting yarn and brushing it, before painting it with acrylics. I sewed the dreadlocks into the wig, along with beads and 3D printed trinkets which I modelled using Fusion 360. I bought the headscarf from Etsy.
Props
I modelled the compass, medallion and belt buckles in Fusion 360, then 3D printed and painted them.
